Founder's Notes: From Living Room to 300,000 Customers What 13 Years of Building YUMMY Has Taught Me

There was a time when YUMMY fit inside my living room. No warehouse. No retail stores. No large team. No guarantees that any of this would work.

Just a vision, a few bundles of hair, and a belief that women deserved better. I wasn't trying to build the biggest hair extensions company. I simply wanted to build one that women could trust.

That decision has guided everyone we've made since.

Today, more than 300,000 women have chosen YUMMY. We have boutiques in Dallas, Brooklyn, and Atlanta, an incredible team, and customers around the world. But if you asked me what I'm most proud of, it isn't a customer count or a milestone.

It's that we never compromised on the standard.

People often see where a business is today and assume it happened quickly. What they don't see are the years spent learning every part of the business.

Packing orders by hand, answering customer emails late into the night, studying hair sourcing, making mistakes, fixing them, showing up again the next day. Every season taught me something I still use today.

There have always been easier ways to grow. 

Cheaper sourcing.

Following trends instead of setting standards.

Selling products simply because they were popular.

We chose a different path.

Every collection we launch has to earn its place.

If it doesn't meet our standard, our customers never see it.

That philosophy is why women still wear YUMMY years after their first purchase.

People ask me what the secret is.

There isn't one.

It's choosing to do the right thing over and over again.

Showing up when no one is watching.

Improving a little every year.

Listening to customers.

Protecting your reputation.

Building trust one order at a time.

Small decisions become big results when you repeat them consistently.
