Tips for Blending Type 4 Yummy Textures with my Type 4 Hair
1. Perm Rods - The first method that can be used to blend your type 4 hair extensions with your natural type 4 hair is perm rods. Perm rods are a good tool to use for your leave out, especially when trying to mimic the exact curl pattern of the extensions. When using the curl rod, you want to start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Roll the curl rod on a section of your leave out until it's completely rolled and snap it shut. Repeat this until all of your leave out is rolled in perm rods. Once this is complete, and you decide to take down your perm rods, make sure you have a little oil on your finger tips as you unravel the perm rods, ensure you do not add frizz to your curls. Once the takedown process is complete, your natural hair should blend seamlessly with your hair extensions, thanks to the perm rod method.
2. Flat Iron Method - The flat iron method is exactly what it sounds like, simply taking your flat iron and blending your leave out by curling it to match the curl pattern of your hair extensions. By doing this, you allow yourself a bit more control as to how your curls will turn out and how you're able to blend them with this tool.
3. Twist Out - We know just how much our type 4 girlies love a twist out! A twist out is perfect for blending your leave out with your type 4 hair extensions because you can essentially twist out your natural hair into your hair extensions, for a flawless blend. We recommend a two-strand twist out as this method is known for being a better blend with type 4 hair.
4. 1/2 Curling Iron - Another method for blending your type 4 hair with Soft Kinks or Deep Curl is using a 1/2 curling iron. A 1/2 curling iron will give you a very defined, springy curl that provides a seamless blend with our hair textures. Taking your hair piece by piece, start by wrapping your hair around the curling iron from the bottom until you reach the top, let the curling iron set on your hair for about 3-5 seconds and then remove the curling iron. Repeat this step until all of your leave out is completely curled. Once your leave out is curled, begin using your fingers to separate and blend your curls with your hair extensions. Once complete, your natural tresses should blend perfectly with your extensions.
5. Mousse - Our last recommendation for blending your type 4 hair with your type 4 hair extensions is mousse. Mousse is the perfect product to give you that wash and go look you may want to achieve. Mousse not only defines your curls, but it also leaves them feeling moisturized and soft. Take a couple of small pumps of your desired mousse into your hands and begin adding it to your leave out, once all of your leave is covered with mousse, add additional mousse to your hair extensions. After your hair extensions and leave out are saturated with mousse, use your diffuser to slightly dry your extensions and leave out, but not completely as this drying process will aide in blending your hair and extensions.
