WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR PACKAGE
Upon receiving your package, you'll immediately notice our signature YUMMY floral fragrance, a result of our CoWash before shipment. Additionally, you may notice short hairs around the weft, referred to as "beards," which are perfectly normal.
Due to the wefting process, you may encounter a few loose hairs during your initial brush out and CoWash. This is completely normal and should significantly decrease after the first few washes. With a consistent haircare routine, you can expect minimal shedding each day. Remember, RAW hair gets better over time—it flourishes with care!
PRE-INSTALLATION
Before installation, it's essential to always co-wash your hair extensions while keeping the zip-ties intact. This gives you the chance to inspect the bundles thoroughly. If you notice any irregularities, please contact us immediately, and we will address them promptly.
INSTALLATION
WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
Conditioner-only washing (Co-Wash) is recommended three times per week with Tresemme Moisture Rich Conditioner OR Tresemme Keratin Smooth Conditioner. This helps keep your hair moisturized and regularly removes any buildup that could lead to tangling or matting.
If your extensions require deep conditioning, we suggest using a rich deep conditioner with smoothing properties to reduce unwanted frizz.
Here are the steps to follow: Before we move forward, please remember not to use shampoo on your hair extensions, as it can remove their natural oils, resulting in dryness and tangling. Instead, choose co-washing (using conditioner only) to keep the hair clean while maintaining moisture levels.
STEPS:
- Divide your hair into 7-10 sections before showering or bathing.
- Use a wide-tooth comb or our favorite wavy hair brush to detangle each section thoroughly, starting from the roots and working towards the tips.
- Completely saturate your hair with water.
- Working from the bottom of your installation, use your fingers to part your hair and gather a 1-inch section, securing the rest of the installation on top of your head.
- Generously apply conditioner to the 1-inch section and brush through with a Denman brush, starting from the ends and moving up to the roots. Complete two passes with the Denman brush, ensuring thorough detangling from the top of the wefts to the ends.
- Repeat this process throughout your entire installation. By now, your hair should be completely detangled and have a good amount of slip from the conditioner. Twist your hair into a top bun or braid and let the conditioner sit for 15-20 minutes without massaging to avoid frizz.
- Rinse your hair thoroughly. For added waves, scrunch your hair to enhance the wave pattern or set it in rollers. Dry your hair using a cotton hair towel, microfiber towel, or t-shirt to minimize frizz caused by regular bath towels.
- If desired, apply a dime-sized amount of smoothing oil or glossing polish to weigh down hair strands and minimize frizz throughout the day. Allow your hair to air dry.
- Between installations or once a month, use an intensive hair mask or hot oil treatment to help prolong the longevity of your extensions.
DAILY CARE
- Brush or comb through to style.
- Apply an alcohol-free glossing polish or hair serum for shine and frizz control as needed. Excessive product may lead to stiff hair which may cause matting and tangling. When product has build-up, it is time for a CoWash!
- Always use heat protectant when heat styling to avoid damage. Keep in mind, excessive heat styling can alter the original wave pattern and integrity of the hair (similar to your natural hair).
BEDTIME CARE
Before bed, put hair into a high ponytail or roll into a bun to enhance wave pattern. Apply satin scarf or bonnet to reduce frizz and fly-aways. For bouncy waves, style with flexi-rods. After waking up, remove overnight protection and comb through using Our Favorite Hair Brush beginning at the ends and working your way up. Style as needed.

Our curly textures demand a more comprehensive haircare routine, primarily because of the unique structure of curly hair strands. It's essential to have realistic expectations regarding the maintenance required to keep your curls looking beautiful. Unlike "beauty supply" hair or many other virgin curly hair options that may maintain their curls without manipulation, our curly textures are sourced from single donors and are renowned for their natural appearance. It's important to recognize that they will behave similarly to your natural hair and therefore require appropriate maintenance.
What causes hair to curl? It's all about finding the perfect balance of protein and moisture!
It's essential to remember that when curly hair lacks moisture, it tends to expand or swell more in humid conditions. Curly hair is naturally more porous than straight textures, so it has a tendency to absorb moisture from the air, leading to swelling. As the hair swells and the cuticles become rough, the curl pattern may become less defined and visually appealing. This can also result in tangling and matting as the strands rub against each other. Therefore, maintaining a consistent care regimen is crucial for managing curly hair and addressing these issues.
By incorporating deep conditioning and sticking to a regular haircare routine, our hair becomes more manageable, softer, and less prone to breakage and frizz.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR PACKAGE
Upon receiving your bundles, you might notice a delicate floral scent, a result of our signature YUMMY co-wash and deep conditioning prior to shipment. Additionally, your curly hair may need some revitalization after being in transit to restore its true beauty. Please avoid running your fingers through your curly hair while it's dry, as this could lead to tangling and increased frizz.
During the initial wefting process in bundle construction, you may encounter a few loose hairs during your first CoWash. This is normal and should diminish significantly after the initial washes. We anticipate minimal shedding each day when following a consistent haircare regimen. It's important to understand the difference between shedding and breakage.
PRE-INSTALLATION
Always wash your hair extensions prior to installation while leaving the zip-ties intact. This will allow you the opportunity to evaluate the bundles. If you detect any abnormalities kindly contact us immediately and we will resolve them accordingly.
INSTALLATION
Use the over and out method when installing your extensions. Although our wefts are custom designed for minimal shedding please refrain from piercing the wefts as this may affect the longevity of your extensions. Only cut your wefts when absolutely necessary as this may cause excess shedding. Although not required, you may seal your wefts using a high-quality weft sealant.
MAINTENANCE
As an overview for curly haircare, conditioner only wash (CoWash) is recommended 3 times per week. This is a non-negotiable step and essential for the best results.
Products you will need:
- Moisturizing Conditioner.
- Curl Sealant/Curl Cream (optional depending on style)
- Denman Brush
- Hair Clips
- Har scrunchie
STEPS:
- Before wetting your hair in the shower, use hair clips to divide it into 5-7 sections. This makes handling curly textures much simpler.
- Thoroughly wet each section of your hair while keeping them separated.
- Take one section at a time and apply conditioner, then use a Denman brush to work through the section starting from the ends. Detangling curly hair is most effective when done in sections.
- After detangling, leave the conditioner on for 15-30 minutes for a deep conditioning treatment.
- Rinse out each section thoroughly and use a Denman brush to define your curls.
- Thoroughly rinse out each section and use a Denman brush to accentuate your curls.
- Follow up by scrunching each section thoroughly.
- After completing the washing process, scrunch each section with a cotton T-shirt. This step helps to set the coil shape and prevent excess water from dripping.
- After scrunching, sparingly apply Proclaim glossing serum to combat frizz. For coarser textures, sparingly apply Ms. Jessie Pillow Soft Cream to your hair. Please be mindful that excessive use of curly cream or serum may lead to buildup and eventually tangling and matting. Please be mindful that excessive use of curly cream or serum will lead to buildup and, eventually, tangling and matting.
- Allow your air dry..
- If you are press for time during the drying process, use a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment until it's at least 60% dry. The diffuser head helps minimize frizz and lock your curls in place. Alternatively, you can let your hair air dry.
- Avoid touching or disturbing the coils as they dry. It's crucial not to run your fingers through the hair while the curls are setting.
Always use a heat protectant when heat styling to avoid damage. Keep in mind, excessive heat styling can alter the original curl pattern and integrity of the hair (similar to your natural hair).
BEDTIME CARE/DAILY CARE
Before bedtime, tie your hair up in a high ponytail or braid it into large sections and cover it with a satin scarf or bonnet. This will preserve the curl pattern and minimize frizz while you sleep. When you're ready to style your hair in the morning, take out the ponytail or braids and spritz your hair with a mixture of water and conditioner to activate the leave-in product. Gently scrunch your hair and let it air dry. Avoid excessive handling as it may cause more frizz.

LACE PRODUCTS CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Lace products should be conditioner washed at the same frequency as your weft extensions. However, it's important to note that lace products are delicate, so exercise caution to avoid applying excessive tension.
Our lace products are crafted using a ventilation method similar to crochet, ensuring a natural appearance without appearing overly "wiggy." To achieve this, the initial rows on lace items feature single-knotted strands starting from the hairline, gradually transitioning to double knots for increased durability. Please be aware that closures and frontals are expected to last for 1-2 installations with proper care.
You may also observe short hairs on lace products, known as "return hairs," which occur during the knotting process onto the lace. Typically, these hairs consist of a short piece on one side of the knot (approximately 2-3 inches), with longer hair on the opposite side. Coarser textures may exhibit more noticeable return hairs.
To smooth down the short hairs, apply a wax stick and then use a hot comb to flatten the lace, ensuring a more natural-looking installation.
